Prague – The regional committee of the Prague STAN supported the draft coalition agreement of the emerging municipal coalition Spolu (ODS, TOP 09 and KDU-ČSL), Pirátů and STAN. The decision was unanimous. STAN regional manager Klára Neumannová told ČTK today. STAN will have two representatives in the city council. Party representatives completed the draft coalition agreement last week. It has already been approved by all Spolu parties and is now being voted on in the regional referendum by the Pirates, who should announce the result on Saturday. Politicians plan to sign the contract before the meeting of representatives on February 16, where they want to elect a new leadership of the metropolis headed by Mayor Bohuslava Svoboda (ODS).

“The draft coalition agreement was adopted unanimously when all 31 members of the committee spoke in favor of it. There is currently nothing preventing the STAN from signing the agreement,” said Neumannová.
Mayors and independents will have two positions on the eleven-member city council. Petr Hlaváček, the current deputy mayor for regional planning, will remain in the same position as before. He will be joined by representative and chairman of the Prague STAN Antonín Klecanda, who will become councilor for education and sports.
In the emerging coalition, Spolu will have five members on the council, while ODS will have three representatives, including the mayor and TOP 09 two, while KDU-ČSL will occupy two chairperson positions in municipal committees instead of positions in the council. Pirates will have four councilors. The coalition will have a majority of 36 votes in the 65-member council. The coalition agreement does not include the vote of representative Hana Kordová Marvanová, elected for Spolu.
Negotiations about a coalition in Prague on the governmental ground plan of Spolu, Pirátů and STAN have been going on since last year's September elections, and have gradually become more complicated for various reasons. The situation was unblocked in mid-January by Spolu's bid, so that the Pirates and STAN would have a combined majority in the council, and subsequently the withdrawal of the Pirates from the alliance they had previously established with Praha Sobě.
The Spolu coalition won the municipal elections last fall 19 mandates. ANO ended second with 14 mandates. The Pirates have 13 representatives and Praha Sobě 11 mandates. Five deputies were won by the STAN movement and three by the SPD.
