Bitozeves (Louense) – After a strike by part of the employees at the Nexen Tire factory near Žatec in Loune, which lasted seven days, meetings of the negotiating teams will now follow. The parties will adjust the final form of the collective agreement. KOVO Trade Union Chairman Roman Ďurčo told ČTK today. The strike ended on Tuesday after the unions and company representatives agreed on an eight percent increase in wages for all employees from March 1 and a compensatory bonus of 20,000 crowns for last year and the first three months of this year.

The trade unionists initially demanded, among other things, an 8.3 percent increase in wages. According to trade unionists, the starting salary of a production operator is 22,700 crowns. The company does not state the average salary of the employees. According to statistics, the average salary in the Ústí Region in the third quarter of last year was approximately 37,000 crowns and was the sixth highest among the regions. As of January this year, the national minimum wage is 17,300 crowns.
“During the negotiations, employees were already called to arrive at work from 6:00 p.m. and do so,” said Ďurčo. Initially, the unions agreed with the company to sign the collective agreement on March 31, but according to the chairman, the deadline was moved to June 30. “Negotiation teams will meet to negotiate the full form of the contract,” said Ďurčo. He does not yet have information about meeting dates. Among the union's demands was a twenty percent surcharge for the night shift and weekends, or two crowns in addition to the hourly rate of the money changers. The chairman said that the negotiating teams will focus on other demands. On Tuesday, the unions warned that the end of the strike is conditional, and the employees can return to the strike at any time if the company does not comply with the agreement. . They went on strike after the employer rejected an intermediary agreement, a compromise agreement between the two parties.
Nexen Tire manufactures tires for cars and light commercial vehicles. The company is based in Bitozevs in Loune, in the Triangle industrial zone.
