Prague – Member of Parliament and candidate for Prague mayor Bohuslav Svoboda (ODS) will remain in the House of Representatives if elected to the head of the metropolis. Seventy-nine-year-old Svoboda is a candidate for mayor for Spolu (ODS, TOP 09 and KDU-ČSL), which is now negotiating a coalition with Pirates and STAN. The parties are gradually approving the draft coalition agreement, which they want to sign before the meeting of representatives on February 16.

Negotiations about a coalition in Prague on the governmental plan of Spolu, Pirátů and STAN have been going on since last September's elections, and have gradually become more complicated for various reasons. The situation was unblocked in mid-January by Spolu's bid, so that the Pirates and STAN would have a combined majority in the council, and subsequently the withdrawal of the Pirates from the alliance they had previously established with Praha Sobě.

The Spolu coalition won the municipal elections last fall 19 mandates. ANO ended second with 14 mandates. The Pirates have 13 representatives and Praha Sobě 11 mandates. Five representatives were won by the STAN movement and three by the SPD.
