Chomutov – A fault in the traction line has stopped the operation of trains between Chomutov and Most. The restriction affects express trains, express trains and passenger trains. Railway Administration spokeswoman Nela Friebová told ČTK that the train ran into a sagging traction line, which apparently caused the insulator to burst. At 12:30 p.m. traffic should be on one lane. According to Czech Railways (ČD), canceled connections are being replaced by bus transport.

Continuity of replacement transport between trains will not be ensured according to ČD, passengers can use subsequent connections. People who need to use one of the international connections can expect complications due to the malfunction. Several trains have been canceled completely, buses provide transport from 5:00 a.m.

According to Friebová, the traction line is about 250 meters long. Employees of the Railway Administration are working on the repair. The reopening date will be updated as the work progresses. An hour before noon, one track was estimated to be put into operation at 12:30.

Trains also stopped today in the section Řetenice – Teplice in Bohemia, where a truck crashed into a bridge. “The driver apparently did not calculate or did not respect the height of the bridge,” said Friebová. The bridge must be checked by a structural engineer and the track should be passable again at 11:30.
