The United States raised duties on European-made aircraft

США подняли пошлины на самолеты европейского производства

The customs tariff was raised from 10% to 15%

The United States raised the tariff on aircraft manufactured in the EU, from 10% to 15%. About it reports RBC-Ukraine with reference to the “Voice of America”.

It is noted that the tariff will take effect on March 18. In October of the WTO, having examined the claims of European aircraft manufacturer Airbus, which the United States accused of long-term receipt of hidden subsidies from the European Union, has granted Washington the right to impose tariffs on European imports totaling 7.5 billion dollars annually.

On 18 October, the United States established a 10% customs rate on all Airbus and 25% for many other goods – from cheese to beer.

Commenting on the recent decision of Washington, Office of the U.S. trade representative issued a statement in which he indicated that he was ready to reach agreement with the EU on this issue.

Airbus stated that this move by Washington will affect American airlines and complicate the negotiation process.

Earlier it was reported that the European Union has expressed regret at the US decision to impose new trade tariffs against the EU in the case of Airbus and vowed to impose retaliatory duties on the grounds of their violations of the U.S. in Boeing.

RBC-Ukraine wrote that the European Union has threatened U.S. duties for 39 billion dollars, if the US will impose tariffs of imported cars.
