The University of Sherbrooke is interested in the Collège du Mont Sainte-Anne

The University ; from Sherbrooke is interested in the Collège du Mont Sainte-Anne

The Collège du Mont-Sainte-Anne could be sold to the Université de Sherbrooke.

Negotiations are underway for the sale of the buildings and the land of the Collège du Mont Sainte-Anne at the University of Sherbrooke.

The news has been confirmed by the communications department of the University of Sherbrooke. However, out of respect for the stakeholders involved and the ongoing negotiations, the UdeS will not release any information publicly while the discussions are ongoing until the fall.

In a letter sent to the parents of the students of the school, the director general, Olivier Audet, wants to be reassuring. The possibility that the land and buildings could pass to an educational institution like the University of Sherbrooke is therefore good news, because their mission and raison d'être are much closer to ours, he writes. .

According to Mr. Audet, the Congregation of Missionaries of Mariannhill, which owns the land and buildings, is aging and their activities take place mainly in other continents, which would explain his desire to drop out of school.

More details to come.
