“We will continue to pursue what is necessary and provide what is necessary to ensure that Ukraine has everything it needs to succeed on the battlefield,” Sullivan said, according to Reuters, at a CNN-hosted event marking the anniversary of the Russian invasion.< /p>
The announcement of another package of American military aid worth two billion dollars was previously announced by CNN. According to its sources, this time the weapons and ammunition should not come from American army warehouses, from where they can be delivered relatively quickly to the battlefield, but will be ordered from American manufacturers. It means that it will take quite a while for the ordered products to arrive in Ukraine. However, the orders can also be seen as a confirmation of the long-term commitment of the US to help Ukraine repel Russian aggression.
The package is supposed to contain rockets for HIMARS rocket launchers, 155-millimeter artillery ammunition, various types of unmanned aerial vehicles, anti-drone weapons, and means for disarming mines , equipment for covert communication and means used for training soldiers and repairing equipment.
At the beginning of the week, the Pentagon announced that the US is sending ammunition for HIMARS rocket launchers, Javelin anti-tank missiles and four monitoring radars as part of US military aid to Ukraine air space. It was a package worth 460 million dollars (over ten billion CZK). The announcement came after the unannounced visit of US President Joe Biden to Kyiv, where he announced additional supplies to support Ukrainian defense.
The US is Ukraine's most important supplier of military aid. In the year since the attack by the Russian army, Washington has spent almost 30 billion dollars (665.9 billion CZK) for this purpose.
