Prague – Up to 15 centimeters of snow may fall on Wednesday and Thursday in the mountains of the Czech Republic. The whole week will be cloudy, with snow and rain. This follows from the weekly weather forecast on the website of the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute (ČHMÚ). Temperatures will fluctuate widely. At night, they can drop to several degrees below zero, while during the day they rise to plus 12 degrees Celsius, especially in the south of the country.

Already today, meteorologists are expecting snow showers or occasional snowfall. In lower locations, below 400 meters above sea level, precipitation will also be mixed or rainy. “Zero to one centimeter may fall, with up to five centimeters of new snow in the mountains,” the CHMÚ stated on today's weather forecast on Facebook. it will snow mostly above 600 meters. Ten to 15 centimeters of snow may fall on the mountains on Wednesday and Thursday,” the meteorologists added. Even for the rest of the week, snow or mixed precipitation may still occur.

While the CHMÚ staff predicted temperatures of two to six degrees Celsius during the day today, and even only minus one degree in the mountains, it will get warmer on Tuesday. It will mostly be four to eight degrees and in the south of Moravia up to ten degrees above zero. On Wednesday, daytime temperatures will drop to one to five degrees, but it will continue to be warmer in Moravia – five to nine degrees. Temperatures will be similar on Thursday. However, Friday will bring a warming of five to nine degrees in most of the Czech Republic, and even up to 12 degrees in the south. During the weekend, it could already be seven to 12 degrees throughout the country during the day, although temperatures may temporarily drop to five degrees.

At night, however, temperatures will continue to drop below freezing. On Tuesday night, it will be between plus one and minus three degrees, and on the nights of Wednesday to Friday, it will mostly be between plus two and minus two degrees. On Thursday night, however, temperatures may drop to minus five degrees in the north of the country. On the weekend, it will be warmer at night, up to plus six degrees, but temperatures will temporarily drop to minus one degree.
