The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf debuts today on Netflix

The new movie about The Witcher takes us into the life of Vesemir.

The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf is the latest animated film to make its debut on the streaming platform Netflix and, as the name suggests, it’s based on the hugely popular The Witcher game series.

Before Geralt, there was Vesemir, an arrogant young witcher who killed monsters for money. As a new power descends on the continent, Vesemir discovers that some magical works involve more than just money. The universe of The Witcher expands in this anime story about its origins, where we meet Vesemir, the mentor of Geralt, a young witcher who has escaped from a life of poverty.

Nightmare of the Wolf is one of three Witcher Netflix projects now available. There’s also the main series, which returns for season 2 in December, and a live-action prequel called Blood Origin set 1,200 years before the events of the show starring Henry Cavill.
