As every year, the American magazine Forbes publishes its list of the richest people in the world. In 2021, reality TV star Kylie Jenner lost her title as the youngest billionaire on the planet at the expense of an 18-year-old German. As Business Insider explains Kevin David Lehmann inherited the fortune from his father, Guenther Lehmann, nearly 3.3 billion dollars (approximately 2.7 billion euros).
It now owns 50% of the shares of Dm-drogerie Markt, a German drugstore chain, the sector leader in Europe with nearly 3,700 stores. Founded in 1974, it employs more than 41,000 people across Germany. According to Forbes, neither Guenther Lehmann nor his son (925th richest person in the world in 2021), very discreet, would be directly involved in the company. Dm-drogerie Markt did not comment on this information, as did the Lehmann family.
Chinese Wang Zelong, at the head of a fortune estimated at 1.5 billion dollars (or about 1.2 billion euros) at 24, is the second youngest billionaire in the world according to Forbes. He would have made a fortune by investing in two Chinese companies producing titanium dioxide.
The Norwegian sisters Alexandra and Katharina Andresen, aged 24 and 25 respectively, complete this somewhat particular podium of the youngest billionaires with their fortune estimated at 1.4 billion each (or about 1.17 billion euros). They both own part of the family business, Ferd, an investment company. According to Forbes, 2,755 people have a fortune of at least one billion dollars in the world, a record.
