There will be four Czech couples at the European Beach Volleyball Championship

Vienna – Four Czech couples will compete in the August European Beach Volleyball Championship in Vienna. In addition to defending silver medalists Ondřej Perušič and David Schweiner, Jakub Šépka and Tomáš Semerád also qualified among the 32 pairs. Among the women, Barbora Hermannová with Mariá-Sára Štochlova and Markéta Nausch Sluková with Helena Havelková will perform.

Perusič and Schweiner were awarded Wednesday's draw in the Austrian capital for opponents in Group B of the Italian pair Samuele Cottafava, Paolo Nicolai and Daniele Lupo, Enrico Rossi and the Spanish brothers Javier and Alejandro Huerta.

On Shépko with Semerád other Italians Alex Ranghieri and Adrian Carambula or the Dutch world champions from 2013 Alexander Brouwer and Robert Meeuwsen await. Hermannová and Štochlova, who finished ninth in their joint tournament debut at last year's European Championships in the Austrian capital, will face, among others, the Italians Valentina Gottardiová and Marta Menegattiová.

The highest seeded opponents of Nausch Sluková and Havelkova are the world number seven and the defending champions from Munich Tina Graudina with Anastasia Samoilova from Latvia. Nausch Sluková is already preparing for her tenth European Championship, while Havelková for her first.

The European Championship takes place from August 2 to 6.
