A project to consolidate the Desjardins caisses located in Minganie and the Lower North Shore will be presented next Tuesday to members.

This merger would include the caisses of Mingan-Anticosti, Havre-Saint-Pierre, Tête-à-la-Baleine, Blanc-Sablon and La Tabatière, for a total of 13 service centres.

If the members accept this merger, the merger would take effect on January 1 to form the Minganie–Basse-Côte-Nord caisse.

15 members of the elected board of directors, including three from Mingan-Anticosti, will ensure the governance of this new organization, can we read in a document from Desjardins.

A virtual extraordinary general meeting must also take place on June 12 at 7 p.m.

This project affects more than 14,564 Desjardins caisse members.

More details will follow.
