One woman and one other person who could not be identified died during the nighttime shelling of Zaporizhia, reports the Ukrinform agency. The Attorney General's Office previously reported at least four victims. However, according to a more recent statement by the police, it is not clear whether the unidentified human remains found belong to one person or to several people.
The rocket destroyed more than ten apartments in a five-story building, while the debris and shock wave also damaged neighboring buildings. The attack took place when most residents were asleep, police said this morning. According to the Zaporozhye Regional Military Administration, Russia apparently used an S-300 air defense system missile. Vladimir Rogov, a member of the Russian-appointed administration in the occupied part of the Zaporozhye region, said, according to RIA Novosti, that the missile belonged to the Ukrainian air defense, which was trying to prevent a Russian attack. The conflicting claims of the warring parties could not be independently verified.
Civilians also faced the Russian attack in the recently liberated village of Kozacke in the Kherson region, the Unian agency pointed out, citing the local administration. “While the humanitarian aid was being unloaded, the Russian occupiers sent a drone to the site. It dropped explosives on people who came to get vegetables,” she described local administration. According to her, nine people, including two minors, were injured, four people are in a serious condition.
