In total, according to the Ukrainians, 16 drones attacked, of which 11 were shot down. Russia sent the drones, which explode after hitting the target, from the Bryansk region adjacent to Ukraine and from the Sea of Azov. According to the head of the Kyiv military administration, Serhiy Popka, drones also flew in the direction of the Ukrainian capital, but were destroyed by air defense.
Two drones hit an unnamed facility of critical infrastructure in Novomoskovsk, where they caused “serious damage”. A fire broke out on the spot, which also destroyed four adjacent houses. Another six buildings were damaged, said the administration of the Dnepropetrovsk region. No people were injured in the attack.
Russia also shelled Zaporozhye last night, Anatoly Kurtev, representative of Zaporozhye town hall, said on the social network in a telegram. “According to preliminary information, a Russian missile destroyed a catering establishment. The pressure wave broke the windows of the surrounding buildings and damaged the roofs and facades,” Kurtev wrote, according to whom there were no injuries in this attack.
Russia launched its invasion of Ukraine last year 24 .February. Since the beginning of last fall, Kiev has accused Tehran of providing Russia with Shahid drones, which Moscow uses to attack Ukrainian cities and energy infrastructure. Tehran denies this.
The Politico server said this week, citing customs and trade documents, that Chinese companies are also supplying Russia with weapons. The United States subsequently confirmed that it had found Chinese ammunition on Ukrainian battlefields, which it suspects Russia of using. This was written by the Kyodo agency today, citing a government source.
It is not clear whether China directly supplied the ammunition, the US administration said. “We are vigilant about this and continue to monitor it closely,” said an unnamed US State Department official.
