According to Vereš, the presidency of the regional organization also met today, which dealt with the proposal to expel Hetman Ivo Vondrák (ANO) from the movement. The leadership of the movement demanded the expulsion of Vondrák, Macura and Bajgarová, who are critics of the situation in the movement and did not support ANO chairman Andrej Babiš in the presidential election, but his opponent Petr Pavl. Macura announced his departure from the movement a week ago. “Mrs. Deputy Bajgarová also delivered a statement from the ANO movement this morning. So we did not deal with her exclusion,” said Vereš.
He added that the board only dealt with the motion to expel Vondrák. “Today's regional presidency dealt with the proposal to expel Mr. Vondrák. There is some statement, but I will not publish it now, because the regional presidency will also comment on it. So we forwarded it to the regional organization,” said Vereš. He assumes that the opinion of the regional organization could be available by the end of the week.
“When it comes to expulsion as such, the national presidency decides on it. As a regional and regional organization, we give a statement on the proposal for expulsion,” Vereš told ČTK earlier. He added that these opinions are not binding for the presidency. “Most of those (proposals for) exclusion come from regional or regional organizations, that's why the statement is there… here we were invited to comment on the proposal (of the presidency), which is not completely standard,” added Vereš, who at the beginning of the year, he replaced Macura in the post of chairman of the Ostrava regional organization.
The mayor stated in connection with his departure that he would offer the mayor's position to the representative club and let his colleagues decide on his further work at the head of the city. On Thursday, he reported that the leadership of the movement began to put pressure on club members to support his departure from the post of mayor. He also spoke about the fact that the existing coalition in Ostrava could then change its form so that there would be no representatives of the government parties in it. Vereš stated that the presidency did not address the situation surrounding Macura at its meeting today. “The regional organization had a meeting, but we did not address this issue,” said Vereš. However, he did not rule out that the presidency will still deal with it. “It is possible, it depends on the result of today's club, or the regional board can meet,” added Vereš.
