Milan Lucic beat Vejmelka from close range at the beginning of the match, but Arizona made it 3:1 between the 22nd and 32nd minutes. First, Nick Schmaltz took advantage of the power play with an unprepared shot from the left circle. Calgary scored the second goal themselves, Chris Tanev knocked the puck into his own goal. The successful passage was crowned by Matias Maccelli in a two-to-one renumbering.

Calgary equalized in the second period. Elias Lindholm came through on the power play and in 62 seconds, Tyler Toffoli surprised Vejmelka with a shot from behind the left circle over the defender. Outnumbered, Jakob Pelletier took the lead for the Flames. In a three-on-two break, Walker Duehr pushed from the right side in front of the Czech goalkeeper and increased the ball with a backhand. The turnover was completed by Mikael Backlund, who ended the interplay into an open goal on another power play.

Chicago was at the bottom of the NHL a week ago, but has won its last four games. In Dallas, it didn't hurt that they were losing 0-3 after goals from Tyler Seguin, Jamie Benn and Jason Robertson in the 25th minute. Max Domi and Patrick Kane took care of the turnaround with the same balance of two goals and one assist. The home team, who could return to the top of the Western Conference if they win, lost for the fifth time in a row.

The Islanders took the lead at the end of the first period from Sebastian Aho, Nikola Ehlers equalized the numerical advantage in the 25th minute. The next goal wasn't until the middle of the third period, when Simon Holmström scored from close range.
