Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic says the state leadership is considering how to help solo artists overcome the crisis caused by the virus coronary pandemic.
“We have a problem with freelance artists, about 2,500 of them. We are looking at how to put them into this mandatory program for 100 euros and how to give them special help and support for getting out of the crisis, because they are not covered by the minimum. We are thinking about that,” he said. Vucic on April 29 in the RTS broadcast “Around”.
The Ministry of Culture and Information of Serbia has previously announced that it has received assurances from the Government that the issue of helping independent artists will be considered within the next phase of sectoral support measures.
On April 15, the Ministry of Culture and Information proposed to the Government of Serbia to provide assistance to independent artists in the amount of 90,000 dinars each for a period of three months.
At the same time, the Ministry announced that the funds it has in 2020 have been reduced by budget rebalancing and that it does not have a magic wand to solve problems in the culture, but will make efforts to finish the started competition activities as soon as possible, which should lead to a certain stabilization of opportunities .
