With the acquisition of a fund of 250 million pesos from the Los Lagos Regional Government, the Osorno Health Service will implement the 2022-2023 Waiting List Resolution plan, which aims to provide care in different medical areas to about 700 people who are waiting.
In Osorno, close to 700 people who are on waiting lists for medical, dental and surgical care could be treated after the funds agreed upon through an agreement with the Regional Government of Los Lagos.
The amounts amount to 250 million pesos, with which the Osorno Health Service began the implementation of the project “Resolution of Waiting Lists 2022-2023”.
Let us remember that in October there were more than 31,000 people on the waiting list in the province of Osorno.
The purpose is to solve surgical interventions in two stages, 2022 and 2023, in the areas of Traumatology, Ophthalmology, Abdominal Surgery, Maxillofacial Surgery and Otorhinolaryngology.
As well as, solving medical specialty queries in the areas of Oophthalmology, Otolaryngology and Pediatric Cardiology.
This was confirmed by the Assistant Director of Healthcare Management of the SSO, Dr. Sandra Jiménez.
It should be noted that most of the surgeries for to resolve, correspond to a pending demand for care at the San José de Osorno Base Hospital, the only highly complex hospital in the area, which covers the population of the entire province.
The strategy, to be carried out after hours weekdays and/or on weekends, it began last week and has already accounted for 9 surgeries and 46 ophthalmological consultations. The program considers a budget distribution of 75% for the year 2022 and 25% for 2023.
