What is the story of Ganymede? NASA tells it with amazing pictures

The agency stated that the probe captured the pictures, which it described as “amazing”, last June, when it flew over Ganymede, which is the largest moon in the solar system, knowing that it is covered with ice.

And “NASA” said that no spacecraft has approached Ganymede like the “Gono” probe did, including the orbiting “Galileo” spacecraft that approached it in 2000.

Recent images show many dark and bright areas in Ganymede, especially the famous “Truss” crater, which is one of the most prominent features of this moon.

The images were combined into a short time lapse video.

Ganymede arose about 4.5 billion years ago, that is, at the same time as Jupiter, and is the ninth largest celestial body in the solar system.

The moon is the only one of the moons of Jupiter that has its own magnetic field, which causes the phenomenon of aurora borealis.

The images of “Gonu” also transport viewers to the heart of Al-Mashri, the largest planet in the solar system, where they can witness phenomena there such as cyclones.

NASA launched the Gono probe in 2011, and it reached the orbit of the giant planet in 2016.
