Sunday, July 21, in Ukraine held an extraordinary elections to the Verkhovna Rada. In the new Parliament, according to preliminary results of voting, passed a few athletes.

As of 09:00 Monday, July 22, it is known that the Verkhovna Rada will be two athletes. This fighter Jean Beleniuk and athlete Olga Saladuha. They were in the list of the party “servant of the people” (10th and 58-th number in the list).

Also in Parliament are two people who are pretty close to the sport. They, too, will represent one party, “the Opposition platform – For life.” We are talking about Nestor Shufricha and Grigory Surkis. The first of these was once owned by Hoverla Uzhgorod. And at the age of 15, he received the title “master of sports” of archery, and was even a candidate in the youth team of the Soviet Union. Regarding Grigory Surkis, he is also the former owner of the Kyiv Dynamo (now President of the club is his brother Ihor Surkis). He Hryhoriy Surkis at the time was head of the football Federation of Ukraine.

But not passed in the Parliament swimmer Denis Silantyev from the “Radical party of Lyashko” and chess player Natalia Zhukova with the “new forces”. These parties failed to overcome the 5% barrier.

Missed the Parliament and the athletes who were in majority constituencies. The greatest support was received by the former football player of FC Karpaty Artem Fedetskyy. But his 12,25% allowed to occupy only the third place in the 118-m single-mandate constituency (part of the city and nearby villages). Roman Virastyuk (brother Vasily virastuk, putter, Director of Olympic sports at the Ministry of youth and sports of Ukraine) scored only of 9.44% of the vote in 84-the OIC (Ivano-Frankivsk region).

The least votes among athletes scored gymnast Anna Rizatdinova. She ran as the self-93-from the OIC (Kyiv region). But voted for it only 50 people (0,61% of the electorate). Basketball player Stanislav Medvedenko, who was also a candidate in 214-m OIC (Kyiv) scored 2,35% of the votes.

And it should be noted that these are preliminary data of the CEC as of 09:00 Monday, July 22. Therefore it is necessary to wait official results of elections.
