Boycotting, staring with one eye or yelling with all your might at a goal by the French team… For this 2022 World Cup in Qatar, feelings are shared. For those who do not want to watch the France-Denmark match, or who wish to add a new language to; their CV, we started the challenge of learning a sentence in Danish, under the benevolent teaching of Lotte Nør-Larsen.
An hour to say perfectly in the language of Peter Schmeichel “instead of watching football I’learn a sentence in Danish.” not easy… “It’s not an obvious language for French speakers, especially the pronunciation because Danish is not a transparent language… This is the very, very big difficulty,” says our teacher of the day. The beginnings are laborious, some words are chewed up and vowels do not exist in French. But at force of perseverance, the sentence becomes more fluid oral.

Lotte Nør-Larsen will be watching Christian Eriksen and his teammates during this global campaign. She will not be alone, “there are around 5,000 Danes in the Paris region. There are many discussions around this World Cup in Qatar but the Danes of the capital will have the possibility; to watch the matches on the big screen in cafés but also at the Danish Church in Paris. The game against France we will naturally win.” All bets are off.
