The Autopilot Tesla is expected to make big progress in the coming months.
A few months ago, Tesla introduced a feature called Smart Summon. This option allows an owner of a Tesla to call a vehicle which is wisely parked in a parking place for it to come up to him in a completely autonomous way. A feature that can be useful when you find yourself in the parking lot of a large surface and you don’t want to go through with your shopping in the arm.
If the Autopilot Tesla is often criticized, this feature seems to work well. However, many users do not find it quite useful. After many notes, Tesla has understood that the function reverse would be even more interesting. That is to say, to leave his car at the entrance to the car park and from quietly do what one has to do it while the car is station all alone.
Until now, this function of reverse is only in the testing phase, however, Elon Musk has referred to the fact that it can be launched by the end of the year. Recently, on Twitter, he added some detail to the progress of this project.
We’re working super hard on getting traffic lights & stops released. Reverse summon (auto park) will be part of the core Autopilot software upgrade for FSD later this year.

The CEO added that Tesla has the capacity to map the parking lots using its fleet of hundreds of thousands of vehicles in order to better understand where they can and cannot park. The calendar is still unclear and we cannot be more precise than ” before the end of the year.” Anyway, it would appear that after the detection of the traffic lights, the Smart Summon reverse should be the next novelty on the Autopilot Tesla. This option should logically be first deployed in the United States before reaching other markets.
