The second team in the league table behind the dominant USK Praha, which did not enter the cup and is concentrating on fighting in the Europa League, had the reins of the match against seventh placed Ostrava in their hands from the start. American Bria Holmesová (15), Petra Záplatová (12) and Eliška Hamzová with Michaela Vondráčková (both 10) scored double-digit points in a clear fight. The best scorer of the match, however, was Adéla Smutná from Ostrava with 20 points.
“We were very successful in entering, which was the key to us winning by so many points. We played aggressively in defense and that allowed us to play fast counterattacks,” said Hamzová in the club's press release. “The final will be about something different. We have to prepare, rest and get into it tomorrow,” added the national team point guard.
