“High-precision weapons were aimed at residential buildings, a historical building and a high-rise building,” Zelenskyy said, referring to the usual formulation of the Russian authorities about strikes against Ukrainian targets.
According to the head of the regional military administration, Vitaly Kim, the attack took place around one o'clock in the morning. Two fires broke out in the process, which local firefighters managed to put out quickly, he added.
The port city of Mykolaiv had about 470,000 inhabitants before the war. It is repeatedly the target of Russian air attacks and bombings.
