“It was a very pleasant meeting. Mrs. Pavlová is nice, pleasant and polite,” said Zemanová, according to Ovčáček. “She added that she spoke with Mrs. Pavlova about her husband's work experience and activities during the presidential mandate,” added the spokesperson.
“The meeting was nice and friendly, we also talked about topics such as pets, fashion and housing,” said Pavlová. The topic was also charity and the way in which Zemanová and her husband approached the issue of supporting the needy.
Pavel explained to Zeman his wife's interest in meeting the current first lady during a meeting on February 13 at the castle in Lány. At that time, he also invited Zeman to his inauguration in March. The head of the presidential office, Vratislav Mynář, later confirmed that Zeman and his wife would attend.
In the role of first lady, Zemanová rarely appeared alongside her husband in public, mostly on official occasions. She dedicated herself to helping vulnerable children, the elderly and the homeless. She communicated with the media minimally.
According to her words, Pavlová would like to be an active first lady. She wants to focus in particular on the topic of gender equality and discrimination against women in society, on issues of family and interpersonal relationships and the situation of single mothers.
