1. The magnifying glass to discover new effects
Magnifying glass lets you explore effects for Stories
Within the Stories or Stories you have a gallery of effects that you can explore by scrolling to the right or left but if you go to the end of everything, you will find a lupita that helps you find new effects that are divided according to different criteria. For example those that are saved because you took them from some other user; the effects of your contacts; or those that are designed for selfies, among others. There you have to choose the effect that you like the most and then press the Test option.
2. Overlapping photos
Within Stories you press on the sticker icon, and you will access a menu with options, one of which is the tool that allows you to put many overlapping images. You click on that icon and you add the photos you want to create a kind of photo collage.
By clicking on that icon you can add several photos to your Story
3. Reel, to make Tik Tok-style clips
A feature that was added very recently is Reel, which allows you to make short videos in the Tik Tok style. To access this option you go to the lower margin, and just as you have Live or Stories, you find Reel. There you choose the duration, the song you want to play in that clip, the speed at which it will play, the effects gallery and then the timer.
4. Hide content (without deleting it)
And how do you do if you want to save a photo or video, that is, hide but without deleting that Instagram content? To do so, you enter your feed and go to the photo or video in question. You press the three points in the upper margin, you go to Archive and you will see that now that content will disappear from your feed. And how do you go about recovering it? Press the three horizontal stripes to go to Archive and once there there are three options, one of which is Archive of publications. Select that option and you will see all the photos and videos you have archived.
The Archive function allows you to hide content without deleting it
5. View the photo and video archive on a map
There is another interesting topic within Archive. First we enter the three lines in the upper margin, select File and we can see the stories that we published in the past. We see them sliding across the screen with our finger, otherwise we can select the calendar icon and we visualize them that way. If we choose the last icon we will be able to see the georeferenced stories on a map that allows you to go through the options in this way. Then you will see all the stories that you made in a certain place.
The content of the file can be displayed on a map
6. Know and manage how much time you spend on Instagram
Do you want to see how much time you spend on Instagram? For this you enter the menu as you did before, by pressing on the three lines in the upper margin, then you select Your activity and there you go to the Time on Instagram option that will tell you how much time you spend per day in this app.
7. Photo and video collections
Instagram gives you the option to build collections of photos: save them and build a kind of album with those images. For that, you select the flag icon next to the publication, then you will save it in Collection and you can store it in an album or collection that you have already assembled or create a new one.
You can build collections of several photos to group them under a title
8. Block offensive comments
Instagram allows you to block offensive. This option is available within Privacy, which is a section within Settings. There you select Comments and a menu of options will be displayed. Within Comments you can choose to block users as well as choose a filter to block offensive comments automatically or manually
9. Avoid being tagged in posts
Also within the Privacy menu are the Tags where you can choose if you want to allow all, some or no one to tag you in the publications.

In Privacy, another of the available options is Activity Status. If you activate this alternative then you will allow the accounts or people to know the last time you were active in the app and if you do not want this to happen then you disable it.
