Afghanistan, folk singer Fawad Andarabi killed by the Taliban
Taken and killed by the Taliban in front of his family: this is what happened to Fawad Andarabi, a folk singer, whose only fault was that of making music, once again banned in Afghanistan since the militiamen returned to power.
To give the news of the murder, which took place in Andarab, in the southern part of the province of Baghlan, was the former Afghan Interior Minister, Masoud Andarabi, who on his profile Twitter wrote: “Taliban brutalities continue in Andarab. Today they brutally killed the folk singer Fawad Andarabi, who was simply bringing joy to this land and its people. He sang ‘our valley … land of our ancestors’. We will not submit to the Taliban ”.
The musician, as told by the son of the singer, Jawad, was taken from his home by the Taliban and killed in front of his family: “They dragged him into the street and shot him in the head”.
“He was innocent, a singer who just wants to entertain people,” Fawad’s son added in an interview withAssociated Press.
