“Slightly,” but Airbus’s goal of delivering 700 planes this year will not be achieved, acknowledges the European manufacturer in a press release. diffused this Tuesday. The aircraft manufacturer had however reiterated its ambition to reach this round figure at the end of October. But, despite the continued ramp-up of production with 68 devices delivered in November, the total of 565 over the first eleven months does not make it possible to envisage reaching 700 in four weeks. Airbus explains that it remained confronted the difficulties of its global chain of suppliers, still weakened by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The group also indicates that, to the extent that this “complex environment [will] persist longer than expected”, it will also adjust the ramp-up on the production lines of the A320 family (A319, A320 and A321). It will produce 65 units per month in 2023 but also in 2024, and the target of 75 aircraft per month, planned to meet the strong demand from airlines, will be achieved “in the middle of the decade”.
Airbus has, however, maintained its financial ambitions for 2022 and is still aiming for a ;adjusted operating profit of 5.5 billion euros.
