Even the circuit of Zandvoort he played a role in the world of road cars, and did so through a brand that is currently involved in Formula 1 (albeit only as a sponsor) at the time of the championship’s return to the track. The brand we are talking about is Alfa Romeo, and the car is the spectacular 4C: a few years ago, in 2016, a ‘CPZ’ version appeared, which stands for Circuit Park Zandvoort, with a distinctive and unique equipment whose circulation, 20 copies, was created specifically for the Dutch market.
The car was presented, with images taken at the Dutch circuit, with a wealth of extra carbon fiber components and an ‘advanced’ GPS chronometer. Carbon fiber was added to elements such as the roof (Coupé version only), mirror caps, roll-bar (Spider only) and inlays in the dashboard and center console. The limited edition included the presence of a leather steering wheel, Alcantara and red stitching, sports seats with leather and microfibre upholstery, red brake calipers behind the 18-inch (front) and 19-inch (rear) “Titanium” light alloy wheels .
On the side, the optionally available air intake provided additional cooling for the gearbox. The stopwatch, controlled by a GPS system, recorded lap times, position, distance traveled, lines, speed and acceleration, as well as intermediate times and lap-by-lap forecasts. The stopwatch, connected directly to the car’s diagnostic connector, could therefore also read vehicle speed, fuel level and water temperature, among other things. All stored data could be retrieved directly in the car, with the ability to download the data for more in-depth analysis. An image of the Dutch circuit was affixed to the front windows.
With the purchase, a sports driving course was offered in Zandvoort. All for the ‘modest’ price of 77,450 euros for the coupe, and 88,350 euros for the spider.
