Elon Musk, CEO of the carmaker Tesla and your aerospace company Spacex, knows no limits when carrying out its technological projects. Now, the eccentric billionaire claimed that his company seeks to manufacture humanoid robots who can perform “unsafe, repetitive or boring” tasks and by next year you will have an initial prototype of the Tesla Bot.
This was announced by the American company on Thursday in the framework of your AI Day event, in which it announced its novelties focused on the development of new Artificial Intelligence (AI) functions together with the hardware.
“Tesla is the largest robotics company in the world because cars are semi-sensitive robotson wheels“said the South African billionaire, who managed to dominate the electric vehicle market and then launched into a multi-million dollar space race.
“That’s why it makes a certain sense to put that in a humanoid form,” he explained and advanced that his future robot that It will arrive in 2022, it will have hands with five fingers and it will come in black and white colors.

“Hopefully that never happens, but who knows,” he joked.
Tesla also announced that it is in the process of select engineers for your new robot project, and that with it he intends to bring his experience in AI from his fleet of vehicles, such as autonomous driving.
How is Tesla Bot
On its website, the company explains that the robot will be characterized as a bipedal device for “general use”, and that it is intended to carry out “unsafe, repetitive or boring” tasks currently performed by humans.
Because, Tesla Bot will have a height of 1.72 meters and weighing close to 57 kilos, and it is expected to be capable of carrying a load of 20 kilograms, and even lifting up to 68 kilos in dead weight. And it might even reach a maximum speed of 8 kilometers per hour.

The humanoid will also be able to perform basic repetitive taskswith the intention of eliminate dangerous or boring jobs for people, Elon Musk acknowledged.
His movement is based on the use of 40 electromechanical actuators distributed in its humanoid body, with legs, arms and hands.
Like vehicles that use the aforementioned assisted driving system, Tesla Bot will rely on neural networks to identify objects around you and react to them in the most natural way possible. They will even have inside a simulation system and a set of tools to constantly learn.
This ambitious announcement coincided with the initiation of an investigation by the US federal authorities into 11 Tesla car accidents with emergency vehicles that were assisting in previous accidents.
At least a person died in one of those incidents and several others were injured. The crashes occurred when Autopilot, Tesla’s driving assistance system, was in operation.
Tesla is noted for making drivers believe that vehicles with the so-called Autopilot system can drive themselves.
