- Mylène Farmer’s new album, called “L’Emprise”, will be released on November 25.
- A major French-language tour, including concerts in several stadiums, will begin in June 2023.
His word is rare. A few days before the release of his twelfth album, and about six months from the start of her tour, Mylène Farmer has granted a grant’ this Sunday an interview at JDD, trying to explain, in particular, the origins of his new musical project baptized; The Grip. “This theme was imposed on us” to me outside of any news. Who has not come across the path of a so-called narcissistic perverse person? Who hasn’t been one day under the influence of such a person? It’s a theme that overwhelms me and makes me angry. (…) There is a form of control in all areas where free will, free thought, are put at stake. wrong.”
The 61-year-old singer justifies the sometimes dark tones of this new album. “Hard not to be flabbergasted by this period when we are witnessing the end of a world… This creates a great void and mental chaos. A new world is looming, the contours of which are not well known. The only certainty is that the passage (…) is likely to be violent. It’s very scary.” She entrusts creative difficulties. “There is this existential question: what is important in my life? For a long time I’ve been unable to write a single word. I was thinking of stopping everything. Then it happened. in one fell swoop. I was like the rising tide.”

“Asking? what we assist my end of life is what I would like”
Renowned for his media discretion, including in favor of associations, the Franco-Canadian star assumes. “I have chosen the path of privacy, I don’t feel the need to publicize my commitments. They exist but remain anonymous. I understand everything. does the artists who act as spokespersons but this does not correspond to my personality.”
During this interview at the JDD, the one who loves to draw but does not feel “not ready” to expose them, the one who admires Salman Rushdie “became a political object despite him”, who “dreams of riding in a flying saucer” and “flying off to another galaxy”, also positions itself on the assisted end of life debate.
“I have been around for a very ;s long susceptible to this subject. A few years ago I met Marie de Hennezel, an incredible woman, dedicated to these people who need so much to be supported and accompanied. So, yes, ask & assisting my end of life is what I would wish for myself.”
As for; a possible end of career, she prefers not to consider it. “I refuse to project myself, it’s a source of anxiety for me. The present remains my refuge.”
