Roger Federer will not participate in any Masters 1000 on clay this season. After the announcement of his future calendar, Geneva then Roland Garros, the Swiss preferred to skip the Madrid event in favor of further training and participation in a tournament within his country. As he has said repeatedly, his two big goals are Wimbledon and the Olympics.
