The members of the National Confederation of Municipal Health Officials (Confusam) of Viña del Mar agreed to a stoppage of their functions after denouncing a delay in the payment of contributions for 5 months, in addition to the lack of supplies for patient care.
The National Confederation of Municipal Health Officials (Confusam) of Viña del Mar -in the Valparaíso region– determined, through a vote, to paralyze its functions as of this Monday.
Among the reasons, according to the president of the Confusan of said commune, Óscar Ortiz, is the delay in the payment of social security contributions from 5 months ago by the Municipal Corporation, as well as a lack of supplies >which does not allow officials to work correctly.
Along the same lines, Tomás Lagomarsino, president of the Health Commission in the Chamber of Deputies, questioned the faults that the corporation has regarding the Confusam accusations.
The president of the confederation added, during the voting, the There is a need to make this situation visible to the employer, because the workers exhausted all possibilities and efforts after working with the minimum.

In view of this, the manager of the Municipal Corporation of Viña del Mar, Jorge Cea, detailed a debt of the entity with different ministries over twenty thousand million pesos, assuring that as administration received the Bankrupt Corporation.
It should be noted that -at the moment- it is unknown if municipal health workers will make ethical shifts for emergency care or implement special measures to address contingent health issues.
