In recent months Eugenio Derbez has been involved in controversy for publicly sharing his position on the Mayan Train and confirm his veto on Televisa, the company where he took his first steps as an artist. Although apparently they are completely different issues, the famous interpreter confessed that they could be related, since the closure of the San Ángel television station would have come after he supported the campaign Sélvame del Train.
The creator of XHDBZ is visiting Mexico to promote The Valet, a film in which he shared credits with < b>Carmelita Salinas and is considered the last participation of the renowned actress on the big screen after her unfortunate death in December 2021.

“According to this I am part of Televisa Univision, but I’m banned in Mexico only, not in the United States”, he said disconcerted. “They haven’t given me the exact reason, but I want to assume it’s because of the Mayan Train”, he commented.
The comedian’s statement took Javier by surprise Poza, head of the radio program, who did not hesitate to delve into the reasons that led him to link his veto to the exchange of comments that a few weeks ago he had with President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.
The protagonist of Returns are not accepted said that his suspicions began after the Oscar 2022, when he gave some interviews for Mexican media about his first experience at the award ceremony, the controversial punch that Will Smith gave to Chris Rock for a joke about the physical appearance of Jada Pinkett Smith and the award that CODA won to < i>Best Movie.

“Suddenly all the people from Televisa who from below… know me all Televisa, everyone, suddenly they tell me:‘Hey, there’s a memo where we’re prohibited from interviewing you, talking about you, you’re banned’, no producer told me, no personality, the people below told me,” he recalled.
Eugenio Derbez commented that the information gained more force when minutes before entering two interviews they were canceled: “Half an hour after going on the air they cancel them”. After what happened, he reflected on what he had said or done so that the company would not allow him to be part of the programs where he was already considered, and thus he came to the conclusion that it was due to the viral video of the artists – including him- who publicly shared their opposition to the construction of section 5 of the Mayan Train.
“I appeared in the video of the Mayan Train and we were to even give an audience at the Palace to talk about it, but I couldn’t go because I was shooting a movie. That’s when, suddenly, the memorandum arrives that ‘Eugenio Derbez we cannot give him space‘”, he expressed.

The actor from La Familia P. Luche tried to get in touch with the company’s top brass to find out the truth behind his veto, but: “They wanted to gild the pill and then he said no, not anymore”.
Contrary to what was happened at another point in his career, the actor continues to work on his professional projects and continues to give interviews to the media who want to approach him. He even shared that TV Azteca is looking for him to pay him a tribute and “Televisa, which is where I did my entire career, I’m vetoed.”
