During yesterday’s hearing, Wednesday 7 July, in the trial that sees Fabrizio Corona accused of defamation against the journalist Selvaggia Lucarelli (“he writes about me because he wanted my body and I didn’t give it to him”, Corona said on TV referring to an inquiry into the daily paper), the judge was forced to suspend the hearing to resume it 15 minutes later.
Why? Fabrizio Corona verbally assaulted the lawyer of the plaintiff Lorenzo Puglisi, who had just deposited a USB key containing a video that would exonerate her client from the heavy accusations that the defendant Corona had made to the journalist in the previous hearing (“I was a guest in one of his transmissions and Lucarelli had kissed me without my consent, she did violence to me! “, he declared.” I denounced him for slander “, replied Lucarelli).
As soon as he heard what the contents of the key were, Corona went towards the lawyer Puglisi threateningly shouting “You are a poor man” and other epithets, so much so as to force the judge to suspend the hearing “to allow Fabrizio Corona to calm down” .
In the general confusion, the hearing resumed, but while his collaborator Francesca Persi testified, Fabrizio Corona began to address insulting epithets to Lucarelli’s lawyer, only to apologize at the end of the hearing “because I take psychiatric drugs”.
