The Federation of Truck Owners of the fifth region paused its adherence to the truckers strike started this Monday. This, until the Ministry of Finance delivers a resolution proposal related to the rise in fuel.
The Truck Transporters of the Valparaíso region decided to pause their adherence to the mobilizationof the union started this Monday, under the framework of the need for more security when carrying out their work and avoiding the rise in fuel.
At the moment, from the Federation of Truck Owners of the fifth region (Fedequinta) they indicated that they were waiting for the final resolution by the Ministry of Finance.
A series of blockades on different routes in the Tarapacá region were generated this Monday in the development of the truckers’ protest in that area. At the same time, a meeting was taking place between the Federation of Truck Owners of Valparaíso and the Ministry of Finance regarding the rise in fuel.

This meeting consisted of the execution of a minute whose proposal -according to what he hopes the union – would be presented this afternoon. Fedequinta indicated that it will wait for the response from the institution to determine whether or not they will adhere to the union’s mobilization.
At the moment, the leader maintained that they are with the company in charge of the loads evaluating a solution.
This was detailed by the president of Fedequinta, Iván Mateluna, who indicated that they could join the strike that began in the north of the country, a decision subject to the resolution of said ministry.
The director of Cafruval Valparaíso, José Egido, ruled out that it is a sectoral problem, but that it is national and affects not only the union, but all citizens.
For his part, deputy Tomás de Rementería rejected the mobilization and made a call to the truckers of the region not to show solidarity with the northern associations.
As for the second requirement, security on the road, the leader pointed out that the problem will be dealt with with the respective ministry, for which they requested a meeting in which they hope to be attended this Tuesday.
