But outside of reality television, her life is very different and that is why she has overcome very difficult obstacles such as kidnapping.

Zapata told abouthow she dealt with the accusations that she herself had been the mastermind of the kidnapping, accusations that even came from some members of her own family.

I went to the actors’ hospital and my grandmother was with me, but Ernestina and my mother arrived to pretend. Later they told me: ‘Your grandmother kicked them out of the room,’ and they told my mom: ‘But it’s her daughter, how did she kick her out of the room,’” the singer also said.

The interpreter of great Mexican melodramas that have gone around the world such as María Mercedes, Rosa Salvaje and Beware of the Angel, explained that she was able to realize all this thanks to the fact that the relationship she had with her half-sisters was never so good due to the preferences that her mother, Yolanda Miranda Mange, had over her.
“All his lack, all his non-presence in my life, all his preference for his other daughters over me… yes, it did hurt but in some way I wanted to be close to her”, she expressed when questioned about why she did not have the support of her family in a situation as delicate as a kidnapping.
Laura Zapata and Ernestina Sodi were kidnapped on September 22, 2002, a date that marked their lives forever. The kidnapping occurred in the vicinity of the Internal Circuit, near the then Cosmos Cinemas, after leaving the play La casa de Bernarda Alba.

Faced with the accusations and the alleged betrayal of her sister, the actress added: “All this betrayal of our pain and our brotherhood together Well, it took me a long time to understand. He even stated that it was like “lightning struck me and broke into millions of pieces” and that to this day he remembers.
“The kidnapping was like lightning striking me and it broke me into millions and millions of pieces that took me six years, to pick up each one of the pieces, readjust, readjust and reintegrate back into life”, Zapata said.
