Lexus is also accelerating its range electrification strategy. By 2025, the Japanese automaker will launch on the market 10 new electrified models, including plug-in hybrids and pure electric. One of these is represented by the LF-Z Electrified Concept, which should soon be transformed into a series production vehicle: it is expected that the aesthetic and engine details of this model will largely follow those of the reference concept, especially as regards the external and internal style.
Lexus NX changes 95% and is a concentrate of technology
As for performance, the new SUV from the Japanese company will be able to deliver one total power of 536 hp and a maximum torque of 400 Nm, for a sprint from 0 to 100 km / h consumable in just under 4 seconds and a top speed of 200 km / h. Powering the electric motor installed will be a 90 kWh lithium-ion battery, which will guarantee a range of about 600 kilometers. The overview of the technical specifications will be completed by the Steer-by-Wire system and the new Direct4 all-wheel drive with advanced torque vectoring functions. And even if it will not be Lexus’ first 100% electric model, a record that belongs to the UX 300e, the new Japanese SUV will have something to boast about: it will be the first model of the brand to be developed on the dedicated e-TNGA platform.

For the new LF-Z Electrified, as well as for all future Lexus electrified models, the Japanese automaker is planning to leverage the experience of the next models. Toyota Gazoo Racing, as those will also rely on the same TNGA and e-TNGA platforms. “We are convinced that electrification and driving pleasure are not in contradiction – Pascal Ruch, vice president of Toyota Value Chain and Lexus Europe, commented to Autocar microphones – Indeed, it is exactly the opposite: these are two aspects that can go hand in hand.
