After eight and a half years, 424 games directed and 14 titles obtained, Marcelo Gallardo closed his stage at the helm of River Plate. This Sunday, the “Muñeco” said goodbye to the “millionaires” and did so with a 4-0 win over Manuel Pellegrini’s Real Betis in Mendoza.

The meeting had an emotional charge from the beginning because it was not only the goodbye of the multi-champion coach, but also of Javier Pinola, who retired from football. Both emblems of the institution received applause and songs of gratitude for their legacy and dedication.
As far as the commitment is concerned, the trans-Andean goals were scored by Bruno Zuculini (8′), Martín Montoya in his own goal (16′), Miguel Borja (55′) and Lucas Beltrán (70′). Pablo Solari played until 64 minutes while Paulo Díaz was not summoned.
