Pope Francis left the hospital in Rome this Wednesday morning (14.Jul.2021). The pontiff was admitted 11 days ago to undergo bowel surgery. The Vatican has not yet confirmed the information.
According to local media, photographers who were in the vicinity of the Gemelli hospital saw 2 cars escorted by Vatican security. They exited through a side entrance shortly after 11:00 am (6:00 am GMT), after the team placed a wheelchair in the trunk of one of the vehicles.
The 84-year-old pope had part of his colon removed on July 4th. This Sunday (11), he made his 1st public appearance since the surgery, in a prayer of about 10 minutes from the balcony of the room where he was hospitalized.
On this Tuesday (13.Jul.2021), the Vatican released images of the leader of the Catholic Church walking through the pediatric oncology ward, which is on the same floor as where he was hospitalized.

The pope’s schedule is empty until the end of the month, with the exception of the Sunday blessing, which will be maintained.
