French automaker Renault announced last week that it will cut up to 2,000 engineering and support jobs in France. The decision comes at the same time as the manufacturer changes its production focus to electric cars and hires professionals for different positions.
The group, which has claimed to have laid off about 4,600 in the country as part of “a wide-ranging restructuring,” said in an official statement that it was “opening negotiations with unions” over the latest plans.
