It is an indicator of health well-being that helps the user to be alert and to be able to inform the health personnel of this information when resorting to a consultation or check-up. As the company explains on its official site, the blood oxygen sensor uses four groups of green, red and infrared LEDs, along with the four photodiodes on the back glass of the Apple Watch, to measure the light reflected from the blood.
In turn, the smartwatch uses a custom algorithm built into the Blood Oxygen app, which is designed to measure blood oxygen between 70 and 100 percent . Measurements can be taken while the user is at rest, and periodic background measurements are made when users are idle, even while sleeping.
Apple Watch 6 offers the option to personalize the face with memojis.
All data will be visible in the Health app and the user will be able to track trends over time to see how their blood oxygen level changes.
On the other hand, the Apple Watch 6 offers hardware improvements, including a faster S6 system in a package (SiP) and an always-on altimeter. It also has a new A13 Bionic-based dual-core processor in the iPhone 11, the updated S6 SiP runs up to 20% faster. On the other hand, the battery offers an autonomy of 18 hours and is compatible with fast charging: it is 100% completed in less than an hour and a half.
The new smartwatch features the U1 chip and 3 ultra-wideband antennas that will enable short-range wireless placement to support new experiences, such as next-gen digital car keys .
It has an Always On Retina display that is up to 2.5 times brighter than the Apple Watch 5 outdoors.
Regarding the design, new bands were added with colors like blue and red. The stainless steel models are available in a shade between gray and black and a gold color. Additionally, Apple Watch Edition is available in titanium and black.
The news coming from the hand of watchOS
Apple Watch 6 incorporates, through the app, new options to exercise
These new watches incorporate watchOS 7 that offers familiar settings, sleep monitoring, automatic hand washing detection, new types of exercises, as well as the ability to select and share watch faces.
The family configuration allows more than one smartwatch to be paired with an iPhone, allowing children and older adults in the family who do not have a smartphone to benefit from the connectivity, security and fitness features of the Apple Watch.
Within this configuration there are customization functions such as the possibility of communicating in an emergency, a mode called “school time” that is designed so that, when activated, minors do not receive notifications and can stay focused on studying.
When it comes to older adults , watchOS 7 also offers them optimized features like a simplified setup and onboarding process, along with an updated X-Large face that shows the time more easily.
The Apple Watch 6 will be available in two sizes (44mm and 40mm), and will come in a Bluetook and LTE version. It will trade from USD 399.
As part of a series of announcements that included the launch of new iPads, the company also introduced a cheaper smartwatch: Apple Watch SE, which will start at $ 279.
