The Russian army is advancing towards the city center of Severodonetsk, one of the main urban centers in the Luhansk region in eastern Ukraine, bringing them closer to gaining control of the entire area.

The regional official, Serhiy Haidai, confirmed in his Telegram account the difficult situation in this city where “the fight continues and the Russians are advancing towards the center”, he specified.

The President of Ukraine, Volodimir Zelensky, has accused Russia late this Sunday of damaging 90 percent of the houses in the city of Severodonetsk, located in Donbas, and has visited the city of Kharkiv.

< p class=”paragraph”>“90 percent of the houses are damaged, more than two thirds of the houses in the city have been completely destroyed. There is no mobile connection and the bombing is constant”, the president denounced in a speech published on the website of the Ukrainian presidency.

Thus, it has warned that the attackers wanted to raise their flag on the Severodonetsk administration building, which is located on the Boulevard of Friendship of Nations.

“ We are doing everything possible to repel this offensive. There was not a day when we did not try to find more weapons, more modern weapons to defend our land, to defend our people”, Zelensky stressed.

Zelensky has described the destruction in the city of Kharkiv as a symbol of Russia’s war of extermination and its own losses during this conflict.

“The black, burned and half-ruined apartment buildings look to the east and north with their windows, from where the Russian artillery was firing”, explained the Ukrainian president.

He also highlighted that “a third of the Kharkiv region is still under occupation. “We will definitely liberate the entire territory” , he has sentenced.

Zelensky, visited the battlefront in the hard-hit Kharkiv region, where Putin’s troops continue to bomb. The president traveled there to visit the troops and thank them for all their efforts in the fight against the Russian offensive.

“They are risking their lives for all of us and for our country”,  he told the soldiers who spoke with him and offered their reports on the state of the fighting. “
