The Mexican pilot, Sergio “Checo” Pérez, made history last Sunday by obtaining the first place of the Grand Prix (GP) of Monaco, thus achieving the third victory of his career in Formula 1;  ;being the other two in Sakhir 2020 and Azerbaijan 2021.
Although the news caused a stir among his countrymen, added to the controversy surrounding his victory was the fact that, in the images shared about the celebration in the circuit’s emblematic pool, the presence of the former president of Mexico, Felipe Calderón Hinojosa.
Said meeting between the Mexican pilot and the former PAN president overflowed with an avalanche of criticism, opinions, ridicule, and even memes on social networks and, although more than one media personality congratulated Checo Pérez on his victory in Monaco, also the video in which he is seen jumping into the pool with Felipe Calderón was one of the most commented topics among Internet users.
Under this tenor and as a good Mexican, the renowned actor Eugenio Derbez broadcast through his Twittera couple of messages; despite the fact that the first was to congratulate Checo Pérez for his victory, in the second He referred to the congratulations that the Government of Mexico would possibly not give to the Formula 1 driver, since the aforementioned tweet was published by the actor hours after the video of the celebration with Felipe Calderón went viral.

Although Andrés Manuel López Obrador did not comment on the matter, users of social networks and citizens speculated that said rigid attitude against Eugenio Derbez could derive from the participation that the actor has had in environmental campaigns that seek to stop the construction of one of the star projects of the Fourth Transformation: the Mayan Train.

Although the celebration with former president Felipe Calderón and a congratulatory tweet deleted from the official account of Twitter of the Ministry of the Interior pointed to the possibility that Andrés Manuel López Obrador would not congratulate Checo Pérez, during his traditional morning conference this Monday, the president sent a message to the Mexican driver for his victory in the Monaco Grand Prix.
He also took the opportunity to recognize the triumph of Atlas as champion of the Liga MX by defeating Pachuca with a global score 3-2, despite the red and black defeat against the local 2 to 1 in the second leg.
“< b>Congratulations to ‘Checo’ Pérez who won the Monaco Award and also congratulations to Atlas who also won and also a hug to all the fans and supporters from Pachuca”, he mentioned in his press conference on May 30.
