The State Public Prosecution clarified, through a tweet posted on its accounts on social media, that no person may drive any motorized vehicle on the road unless he holds a valid license issued by the licensing authority that authorizes him to drive the same type of vehicle he drives, and this license is referred to in Driver’s license law.
The Public Prosecution indicated that according to Article 51 of Federal Law No. 21 of 1995 regarding traffic and its amendments, whoever drives a vehicle on the road without a driver’s license or a fine of not less than five thousand dirhams is punishable by imprisonment for a period not exceeding three months and a fine of no less than five thousand dirhams. With a license that does not allow him to drive the same type of vehicle.
The dissemination of this information comes within the framework of the State Public Prosecution’s ongoing campaign to enhance the legal culture among members of society, and raise the level of public awareness of the law, with the aim of spreading the culture of law as a way of life.
