International Book Fair
The attendees at the 24.ª Santo Domingo International Book Fair 2022 will enjoy a unique experience for the whole family, thanks to a series of novelties that have been incorporated into this book festival, which will be held every year. from April 23 to May 2 in the Colonial City.
This edition will integrate important spaces and will develop actions aimed at promoting literary entrepreneurship, promoting equity, promoting creativity and encouraging the preservation of the environment.
Business Center
The first of the novelties of the FILSD 2022, which this year has as its motto “Come to the book”, is that it will have a of a business center, in which international literary agents and publishers will hold individual meetings with local writers in order to learn about their literary proposals and guide them in marketing them.

Inclusive pavilion
Furthermore, the FIL will count with an inclusive pavilion. This is the first major effort made in the country so that people with some kind of visual disability can fully access the experience of the fair.

A large children’s pavilion
The children’s pavilion will with 6 areas. All visitors, regardless of their abilities, will have access to the interesting theme rooms of the museum.

An eco-friendly fair
Another novelty that the fair presents this year is that only recyclable materials will be used and there will be no waste. The use of plastic bags is allowed.
This initiative is in line with the Government’s objective of promoting practices aimed at caring for and protecting the environment.

Comic Book Pavilion
It should be noted that, after several years without a pavilion of this type, the International Book Fair will have, for the second time, a pavilion for comics, in order to support and promote the production and development of Dominican artists who are dedicated to promoting art and culture through graphic comics.
Mobility strategies
For the FIL Santo Domingo 2022 it is being planned. working on the mobility strategy, with the aim of guaranteeing citizens greater ease in terms of transport and accessibility to the fair.
A new citizenship
One of the objectives of the event is to promote reading and literary activity in all its spheres as part of a new process of citizen construction, in which freedom, equality and identity constitute the analytical and normative axes for the empowerment of citizens.
