The new “Mining Card ” It will allow former workers along with 10 relatives to enter the Isidora Cousiño de Lota Park for free. In addition, the entrance to the Chiflón del Diablo will be half price for them. This initiative was launched by the ProCultura Foundation.
The ProCultura Foundation, administrator of the Lota Sorprendente tourist circuit, launched the so-called Mining Card that will allow free entry to the Isidora Cousiño Park for former employees of the National Coal Companyn (Enacar) and 10 direct family members.
The above was presented within the framework of the day of the miner who is traditionally commemorated during the third weekend of December in the area.
To obtain the ID you need to have the worker’s file number and carry out the process in person, at the foundation’s office located on the way to Parque de Lota; or digitally, on the aforementioned foundation’s social networks.
In this regard, its executive director, Alberto Larraín, pointed out that there cannot be “a business issue” with the mining family regarding access to the emblematic site.
The work was the result of an alliance between ProCultura, Corfo and social actors from Lota.
The president of the Broad Front of Coal Workers, Jorge Orellana, pointed out that this benefit “was a desire for many years”, which began when Fundación Chile took over the management of the park after the end of the extractive activity, added to the failure of the dialogues with the bankrupt Corporación Baldomero Lillo.
Entrance to the Chiflón at half price
The initiative was also valued by the regional director of the Production Development Corporation, Roberta Lama.
< p>In the event of not knowing the file number of the former Enacar worker, death or the loss of the document proving his link with the defunct company, ProCultura will review the veracity of the data in the files of the former state coal company.
In this way, the 10 direct relatives of the official will be able to access the Lota Park for free and pay half the value of the entrance to the Chiflón del Diablo mine< /strong>. This last venue will open its doors next January.
