The acquittal issued in 2020 by the 36th circuit judge of Paloquemao in 2020 on former councilor José Juan Rodríguez Rico because, in his opinion, the participation of the prosecuted in the crimes related to the hiring carousel in Bogotá was laid down this May 27 by the Superior Court of Bogotá.

The judicial authority pointed out that the participation of the accused in the crimes can be proven and therefore he was sentenced for improper interest in entering into a contract in the bidding for phase III of TransMilenio.

For this fact, Rodríguez Rico could pay 7 years and 6 months in prison, a fine of 15.6 current legal minimum wages and two months of inability to hold public office.
