The National Training Institute Té Cnico Profesional (Infotep) and the National Directorate of National Assets (BN), started the training actions in the areas of joinery and upholstery for the manufacture and repair of furniture of the Status.
Forty-two people will be trained within the Program to Support Education and Professional Technical Training in the Dominican Republic (PRO-ETP-II), which includes a daily stipend of between RD$300 and RD$400 to guarantee food and transportation and avoid desertion.
Rafael Santos Badía, general director of Infotep, said that the program is designed so that people will receive theoretical training at the Josefa Brea Technological Center, recently inaugurated by President Luis Abinader, and practical training at the workshop of National Assets.
“The 42 young participants will be able to develop skills to solve an evil that has been going on for years and had never been considered to be remedied: the maintenance, repair, conservation and improvement of the furnishings of State institutions , in which millions of pesos from the national budget are spent unnecessarily,” Santos Badía.
This is the continuation of the Metropolitan Scholarship programs, of which there are two courses in progress, with the attendance of 36 participants , in Cabinetry and Upholstery.
“In harmony with its mission and vision of service, Infotep will continue in the execution of the PRO-ETP II project, and other projects, with the purpose of promoting equal opportunities by strengthening the occupational capacities of Dominican men and women”, said the general director of the tripartite entity.
Cesar Cedeño Ávila, executive director of Bienes Nacionales and of the State Sugar Council (CEA), stated: that the training received by young people in the National Assets workshop complements the necessary training so that they can insert themselves into society with skills to perform decent work.

PRO-ETP II
The Professional Technical Education and Training Support Program in the Dominican Republic PRO-ETP II , is a Scholarship Program for Greater Santo Domingo, El Seibo and Miches, jointly developed by Infotep, the European Union, the Ministry of the Presidency and the Ministry of Labor.
Contemplates the < strong>training and job placement for young people between the ages of 17 and 29, who are outside the education system and the job market. The project includes coaching, advice for employment and entrepreneurship, and employment management.
