The confrontation between Washington and Beijing continues and reaches a new level. Donald trump has signed a decree designed to eliminate the threat to national security posed by Chinese apps for social networks TikTok, reports the Chronicle.info with reference to Country.

Since 45 days after date of publication of this decree, prohibited any transaction by any person or in respect of any property under the jurisdiction of the United States, with ByteDance Ltd (owner of TikTok — Ed).

“Distribution in the US mobile apps developed and owned by Chinese companies, continues to threaten national security, foreign policy, and economy of the United States. Currently, it is necessary to take measures to eliminate the threat posed, in particular, from the mobile application TikTok. The Department of homeland security, the transportation security Administration and the Armed forces of the United States had banned the use TikTok on a Federal government phones”, — stated in the decree of the President.

Earlier, us senators passed a bill banning the use of the TikTok app on mobile devices of civil servants in the United States.

President trump this week also told reporters in the White house that the application TikTok, the US will be terminated if until 15 September it will not be sold to an American company.

Meanwhile, it was reported that Microsoft is in talks with the Beijing company ByteDance about sale belonging to it app TikTok discuss the transaction price, which ranges from $10 billion to $30 billion.

If the deal goes through, ByteDance will have to pass Microsoft’s coding during the year.

According to Chinese experts, the negotiations between the companies can be completed within three weeks.

Beijing sharply criticized the us administration for exerting pressure on the social network TikTok, calling the situation an open intimidation. “This is contrary to the principles of market economy and principles of openness, transparency and non-discrimination of the WTO. The Chinese foreign Ministry added that such actions of Washington considers Beijing a “political manipulation”.

The Chinese edition of China Daily published an article which stated that China would take retaliatory measures to attempt to force the Chinese company in the United States ByteDance to sell belonging to it app TikTok.
